Today, on Flag Day, we pause to reflect on the powerful symbol that waves above us. It serves as a banner of freedom, unity, and resilience. Since its adoption in 1777, the American flag has stood as a testament to the courage of those who have defended it. It honors those who serve, who have served, and who made the ultimate sacrifice.
With every ripple in the wind, the flag carries stories of bravery, dedication, and hope. The stars remind us of our collective strength, shining over a land that values justice and democracy. The stripes reflect the sacrifices and struggles that paved the way for a brighter future.
A Personal Tribute to Those Who Served

Today, I honor my grandfather, Arthur W. Birr Sr., who served in WWI; my father, Virsel Newberry, who served in WWII; my uncle, Arthur W. Birr Jr.; and the many beloved friends and family members who have served this nation so bravely. Their unwavering dedication and sacrifice, alongside the countless heroes who stood in defense of liberty, remain a beacon of hope for generations to come.

To all who have served, who are serving, and who have made the ultimate sacrifice—thank you. Your courage, commitment, and love for this country will never be forgotten.
A Call for Gratitude & Peace
Let today be a celebration of gratitude, unity, and peace. May we lift our voices in appreciation, remembering that our nation thrives not only through strength, but through kindness, respect, and shared purpose.
May the flag forever wave in remembrance, honor, and hope.
