There are things that don’t sit easily in my spirit. Some are loud. Some are whisper-soft. But they all tug at my heart in ways I’ve come to pay attention to.
I’m bothered by performative kindness. The kind that shows up for applause, not for presence. Kindness isn’t meant for show—it’s meant to hold.
I’m bothered by how grief makes people uncomfortable. How it rushes us to “move on” before we’ve even had the chance to catch our breath. Grief isn’t a detour—it’s part of the road. And it deserves space.
I’m bothered by how people forget where they came from. When roots are treated like burdens instead of birthrights, something precious gets lost. Our ancestors didn’t endure just to be erased.
I’m bothered when voices tremble and still aren’t heard. When someone bares their truth and the world looks away. Listening is sacred—and sometimes, life-saving.
I’m bothered by the silence around mental health in small towns. It’s the quiet epidemic few want to name. But healing starts when we dare to say, “I struggle too.”
I’m bothered when community forgets its own. When we rally for trends but overlook the widow next door. The addict in recovery. The kid who doesn’t feel safe in their skin. Visibility matters—and so does compassion.
I’m bothered by the moments when I doubt my own worth. When the noise of the world drowns out the whisper that says, you’re still becoming.
And I’m deeply bothered by how scammers prey on those already struggling. My boyfriend’s card was hacked—over $300 stolen, gone without a trace or apology. It wasn’t just the money. It was the violation, the helplessness, the bitter reminder that cruelty often wears anonymity. These people don’t just steal dollars—they steal dignity. And that’s what hurts most.
If anyone reading this has a kind heart and feels moved to help, I’m doing what I can to support him. I’m able to send a few essentials through Walmart’s online shopping, but if you’d like to help directly or message me with support, it would mean the world. Sometimes community is built one act of kindness at a time.
