Itās a bit of a late pour this weekābut sometimes the richest brews take their time. And thatās been the lesson whispering to me lately: itās okay to come to the moment slowly.
The sky is clear, birds are chirping, cicadas are humming like theyāve got secrets to tell, and the heat⦠well, sheās come back with something to prove. As I write this, Iām keeping one hopeful eye on the road, awaiting the delivery truck carrying my new air conditionerāa modern miracle Iām not too proud to call a lifesaver.
Thereās a particular kind of stillness in summerās thick air, isnāt there? It slows you down, presses you inward. Makes you reckon with whatās unsettled and whatās yearning for reliefābe it the stickiness of July or the ache of something unspoken. This week, Iāve been thinking about what it means to waitānot passively, but with hope tethered to small comforts. A cold glass of iced tea. A fan humming beside a half-read book. The knowing that some kind of ease is on its way, even if itās a day late.
š« What are you waiting for right now? And how are you tending to yourself in the in-between?
Wherever this post finds youāin front of a fan, beneath a tree, or chasing shadows down sun-warmed sidewalksāI hope youāre finding moments to breathe, to cool, to wait with gentleness.
Until next time, Michelle š³
