Tiny Wheels, Big Imagination

Daily writing prompt
What’s a thing you were completely obsessed with as a kid?

When I was little — barely two or three years old — my world revolved around a bright red pedal fire truck. It looked just like the classic metal ones: shiny red body, white wheels, a tiny bell on the front, and a steering wheel that made me feel like I was in charge of the whole neighborhood. I pedaled that thing everywhere, convinced I was the smallest fire chief in existence.

And then there was my yellow Tonka truck — the tough, indestructible kind every kid seemed to have. I pushed it through dirt, gravel, and probably a few places I wasn’t supposed to. That truck hauled rocks, sticks, imaginary cargo, and all the dreams a kid could pile into it.

Those toys weren’t just toys. They were adventure machines. They were freedom, imagination, and pure childhood joy wrapped in metal and paint. Funny how something so simple can stay with you long after you’ve outgrown it.
