Do you believe in karma?
It’s one of those questions that can spark all kinds of conversations. Some people firmly believe that what goes around comes around, while others see life as a series of random events. As for me, I’m somewhere in the middle.
I like to believe that the energy we put into the world matters. When we choose kindness, compassion, and generosity, those actions have a way of creating ripple effects that reach farther than we may ever know. It may not always come back to us in the exact way we expect, but I think our choices shape not only the lives of others but also the person we become.
At the same time, I’ve lived long enough to know that life isn’t always fair. Good people face hardships, and sometimes those who don’t seem to have the best intentions still find success. That’s where the concept of karma can become complicated. If karma were immediate and predictable, perhaps it would be easier to understand. Instead, life often unfolds in ways we can’t explain.
What I do know is that I feel better when I lead with kindness, even when it’s difficult. I believe in encouraging others, offering a helping hand, and treating people with respect. Not because I’m expecting something in return, but because that’s the kind of person I want to be.
Maybe karma isn’t about keeping score. Maybe it’s about the impact we leave behind through our actions, words, and choices. Every interaction is an opportunity to make someone’s day a little brighter or a little harder. I hope I choose the brighter path more often than not.
