We all have them, those little tricks and habits that make life run a bit smoother. Some people call them life hacks. I call them survival strategies.
One of my biggest life hacks is keeping a calendar for everything. If it’s important, it goes on the calendar. Appointments, deadlines, meetings, birthdays, and even reminders for things I don’t want to forget. As someone who likes having a plan, knowing what’s ahead helps me feel organized and less stressed.
Another life hack I’ve learned is to do something now if it will take less than five minutes. Answer the email. Put away the dishes. Fold the laundry. Make the phone call. Those small tasks have a way of piling up when we put them off, but tackling them right away keeps them from becoming overwhelming later.
I’ve also discovered that preparing the night before can make mornings much easier. Whether it’s laying out clothes, organizing my workspace, or making a to-do list, spending a few minutes planning ahead saves me time and frustration the next day.
Perhaps my favorite life hack is giving myself permission to make progress instead of demanding perfection. For a long time, I hesitated to start projects because I worried they wouldn’t be good enough. The truth is that nothing gets accomplished if we never begin. Sometimes the best thing we can do is take the first small step and trust that we can improve along the way.
Life hacks don’t have to be complicated. Often, they’re simple habits that help us manage our time, reduce stress, and make room for the things that matter most.
What about you? What is one life hack that has made your life easier? I’d love to hear your favorite tips and tricks in the comments.
