This question has been sitting with me lately ā not in a loud, demanding way, but in a quiet, persistent whisper that keeps returning when the world finally slows down enough for me to hear it.
What is your mission?
Itās a question that can feel overwhelming if we think of it as something grand or public or perfectly defined. But the more I sit with it, the more I realize that a mission isnāt always a big, dramatic calling. Sometimes itās something softer. Something simpler. Something that grows slowly, like roots beneath the surface.
A mission is the thing your soul keeps nudging you toward, even when youāve ignored it for years. Itās the thing that brings you back to yourself. Itās the thing that makes you feel alive, aligned, and awake.
š± A mission isnāt something you choose ā itās something you uncover
For a long time, I thought a mission was something you decide, like picking a major or choosing a career path. But now, as Iāve stepped back into writing ā after years of silence, years of carrying more than I could express ā Iām realizing that a mission is something you discover.
It reveals itself in the things that break your heart. In the things that heal your heart. In the things you canāt stop thinking about. In the things that feel like home.
For me, writing has always been part of that mission. Not because Iām trying to be profound or polished, but because writing helps me listen. It helps me reflect. It helps me heal. It helps me make sense of the world and my place in it.
And maybe thatās part of my mission: To pay attention. To tell the truth. To create spaces where others feel seen, comforted, or less alone.
šæ Your mission doesnāt have to be loud to be real
Some missions are public. Some are private. Some are lived out in classrooms, kitchens, churches, or quiet corners of the internet. Some are lived out in the way we love our families, support our communities, or show up for the people God places in our path.
A mission doesnāt have to be impressive. It just has to be yours.
Itās the thing that keeps calling you back. The thing that feels like purpose. The thing that feels like obedience. The thing that feels like peace.
š¤ļø Maybe your mission is already inside you
Maybe youāve known it for years. Maybe youāre rediscovering it. Maybe youāre just beginning to sense it. Maybe itās shifting as you grow.
Wherever you are, the question is worth asking ā gently, honestly, without pressure:
What is your mission in this season of your life?
Not forever. Not for the next decade. Just for right now.
š If youāre walking this journey tooā¦
Iām writing again ā slowly, intentionally, from the heart ā and if youāre exploring your own mission, purpose, or healing, Iād love to walk alongside you.
