There are people who shape us through presence, and others who shape us through memory. I’ve written before about the voices that guided me — the ones who offered wisdom, comfort, and truth when I needed it most. But inspiration doesn’t always come from a single person. Sometimes it comes from a constellation.
I am inspired by the ones who kept going.
Not just the bold or the brilliant, but the steady souls who carried their burdens with grace. The ones who showed me that strength isn’t loud — it’s consistent. It’s choosing to rise again, even when life has taken more than it has given.
I am inspired by my mother and my sister, whose love still threads itself through my days. Their absence has carved out a quiet place inside me, but it’s in that quiet that I hear them most clearly. They remind me to lead with kindness, to speak truth gently, and to never underestimate the power of showing up for the people you love.
But I am also inspired by the living voices around me — the mentors who believe in me, the friends who steady me, the family who roots me. Inspiration, I’ve learned, is not a single flame. It’s a fire built from many sparks.
And perhaps most of all, I am inspired by the person I am becoming — the woman who has learned to carry loss without letting it harden her, who continues to grow, to dream, and to create. The woman who writes beneath the willow’s shade and listens for the lessons hidden in the wind.
Inspiration is not just about who shaped us. It’s about who we choose to become because of them.
