When I hear people talking about cryptocurrency, I’ll be honest, I don’t give it much thought.
Maybe it’s because I’m old-fashioned, or maybe it’s because I’ve always believed in things I can actually see, touch, and hold. Gold. Silver. Cash in my wallet. The coins in my change jar. Those things feel real to me. They have a physical presence, and there’s a certain comfort in knowing exactly what you have.
Cryptocurrency, on the other hand, has always seemed a little abstract. It’s digital. It exists online. People buy it, sell it, and invest in it, but I’ve never fully understood the appeal. One day it’s worth a fortune, and the next day it seems like the value has changed overnight. That unpredictability makes me cautious.
That doesn’t mean I think cryptocurrency is bad. In fact, I can appreciate why some people are excited about it. Technology continues to change the way we live, work, shop, and bank. Every generation experiences new innovations that previous generations may not immediately embrace. Cryptocurrency is simply one of those innovations.
For me, though, trust comes from familiarity. I understand a dollar bill. I understand saving money, paying bills, and putting aside funds for the future. While others may see opportunity in digital currency, I still find comfort in tangible assets and traditional forms of money.
Maybe that perspective will change someday. Perhaps as cryptocurrency becomes more common and easier to understand, I’ll see it differently. But for now, if given the choice between digital coins and real ones, I’ll take the ones I can drop into my hand and hear jingle in my pocket.
And maybe that’s okay.
Not every new trend has to become part of our lives immediately. Sometimes it’s enough to stay curious, keep learning, and acknowledge that people can see value in different things.
✨ What about you? Do you believe cryptocurrency is the future of money, or do you prefer something you can actually hold in your hand?
